Performing Remote Edit

When you are using Internet Explorer as web browser, this operation can be done only when ActiveX control is enabled with Resource Management Application or User Profile.
When you are using any web browser other than Internet Explorer, you cannot perform Remote Edit.

Described below are the procedure for editing documents directly on the server.
ArcSuite has the Remote Edit function that allows you to edit registered objects directly on the server. Listed in the table below are the OS and applications that support the Remote Edit function.

The application in some cases display a warning or error dialog during editing using the application. This may suggest some fault occurrence. Immediately save the file on your local machine and upload it via DocumentSpace.

Performing Remote Edit

Operation
  1. Select the target object in the [Documents List] window.
  2. Select [Edit] - [Remote Edit].
    The [Remote Edit] window appears.
  3. To track the changes to the document, select the [Yes] radio button in [Edition Control].
  4. Click the [Start] button.
    The application starts.
  5. Edit the document.
  6. When you have completed the editing, overwrite and save the file.
  7. Close the application.
    This ends Remote Edit.
